On all my rigs, the fuel light comes on when I have less than 2 gallons left. You should never let your fuel level get that low!

Well from reading things on the forms, some say it will go 20-35 miles. This is why I wanted to no, Just for the record. I always get gass within 1 mile after the light starts to stay on, and will not go out.

I've squeezed 25 miles out of mine (88 22re 5sp) once but filled up before it died so can't say for sure. Oddly, the station's pump said I put over 18 gallons in a 17.5 gallon tank.

On my 94 runner, when the E is covered, i can go for about 20 miles, ive never ran out, but i made it 10 miles to my friends house in the country and back with plenty of fuel to get the gas station, so there were hills and such.

Toyotas seem to go for quite a bit when the fuel light comes on. but yea, you should never get that low.

Fuel tank capacitys do not account for fuel filler line, which can hold up to 1/2 gallon.
