Front brakes

I had new rotors and pads but on the front and I put on a new caliper on the left side because it was siezed up... this was about 5-6 weeks ago now I'm starting to hear a little squel from the front brakes and they *clap* I can hear them engage. You have to have your head out the window but it sounds like two metal peices coming together. I just fixed my e-brake, last friday if that has anything to do to it. Also if you have clogged brake lines what would this cause?

Thanks,
Mario

i had this happen with the performance friction pads. apparently they gave me the wrong size. replaced them with valuecraft pads ($15) just for troubleshooting purposes, and have been running them since. they actually work surprisingly well with my rotors.

if there is to much pitch when you brake, then you've already gone through the front brakes, your hearing the squeal bar now. drain your brake lines and insted of a new caliper just rebuild it with some new seals. pitch is when you hit the brakes and the truck leans foward way to much, you might need to tighten up your rear brakes a bit more....

it's my 2 cents

Alright, thanks guys... I think that the pitch thing it right, I don't think or atleast it feels like my back brakes are even braking.. How would I go adjusting my back brakes..?

Thanks,
Mario

take the tire off, dont have the e brake on, remove the brake drum. you will see a gear towards the bottom, all you need is a screwdriver and click that gear a few notches....i'm not sure witch way you click it. so click it one direction a few times, then go in the cab and pull the e brake, if it feels tighter that your going the right way. i think you click it upward

hope this helps

do not pull the e brake handle without the drum in place! adjust the 'adjuster' by rotating it in a downward motion a few clicks, slide the drum back over the studs and rotate it back and forth. you are checking for drag of the shoes on the drum. repeat this process until you feel a slight amount of drag, your rear brakes are adjusted.

this should help out:
