The Flowmaster Super 44...

Is a turd like every other hollow sounding flowmaster muffler, holy crap man, a glasspack will yield you more performance, than a flowmaster, not to mention, they sound about the same on a V6, 'cept the glasspack doesn't sound HOLLOW...

subliminaltrips has a Flowmaster 40 series on his 2wd truck and it actually doesn't sound bad at all. The only reason I went with a Magnaflow instead of a Flowmaster is because his is so damned loud. It just screams "I'm a teenager and want you to look at me" when he drives by...

Mine has a certain relation to that... I like the way it sounds just if it weren't so loud

are you running a cat?

i have a single in / single out flowmaster on my 3.0 and it sounds ok with the cat.. im expect that it would sound way more throaty without one.

Wow, I'm dumb, you already said what truck it was on... Are they really that loud? The ones on my cousins mustang arent THAT loud, and he has an x-pipe, and two 40 series... then again, my opinion of *slightly loud is like, open headers... I grew up around LOUD cars...

Did you only buy the muffler or did you also put new piping? Did you get 2.5"?

He also has a 3" tip on it but yeah, its pretty damned loud. I have a 14" magnaflow and his is probably twice as loud. I think mine sounds mellower, but his has a nice deep, raspy sound to it. It would be perfect if it wasn't just so loud...

The 80 series isn't that loud at all but he is also running stock pipes on that one with no tip at all...

Yeah I put on one of those I guess their called "echo" tips or something? basically a big ****in' tip bout 4" round, slashed at a 45* angle, and is about a foot long... makes my truck sound wicked at idle, I like the sound I'm getting with my dynomax, but I'm considering a glasspack, or a cherry bomb race muffler, I hope it doesn't sound farty like that though...
