i had a 44 on my 86 for a while... pretty loud and not very cop friendly. i was telling people on the "muffler pole" thread that a 50 series is really nice. or if you want to spend $100, get the flowmaster 80 series, sounds amazing!!! for sure what i am putting on my 3vze runner.. youtube it as soon as you get a chance.

ha he's young so i think he wants it loud.lol but the super 44 is suppose to be the loudest flowmaster has to offer. if you can wait till tuesday i can tell you how that cherry bomb extreme sounds. its basically the same as a flowmaster but it only uses on chamber in the muffler instead of 2 like the flowmaster 40 and 44 series. lol but it all preference man

I have always ran Chevy 350's befor my Toyota and I always used dual 40's, I tried a single 3" 44 on my last Chevy and it sounded soooo good. IMHO the 44 is no louder than a 40, but it's much deeper and tough sounding and much quieter in the cab. On my '92 Silverado, with no cat, stainless headers, 3" piping and a 44 with a full tailpipe, if I had my window up I really couldn't hear my exhaust at all, but with the windows down I could definitely hear it and it was pretty loud outside the truck. My dogs would hera me from 2-3 blocks away and would be waiting by the front door when I got home from work! I have a 40 on my Yota now and it sounds pretty good, a lil raspy, but I'm used to 350's....

I had one on my 22re with a header, it was loud. I took it off in favour of a 50 series delta flow, much more livable.

I had an '87 all pre-runnered out and the guy I got it from put Flowmaster on it. Now I am not sure what number it was, but I was under the impression it was something more fore a big V8... Whatever it was, just Like Yotaman85 said, mine was loud and not cop friendly.

haha anything cherry bomb is where its at. lol if ya want really loud get glasspacks, want something louders than flowmasters get the cherry bomb extreme, want somethin identical to flowmaster get the cherry bomb vortex, and if you just want something lik stock get the cherry bomb turbo. lol and the best thing is they are cheaper than flowmaster by alot

on my 2.7 ive got a super 44 with dual outlet and just turndowns after the muffler and its sounds really low and rumbly. The sound is great but it resonates to damn much. not sure if that would change if i routed it out the back but the cab noise will be pretty bad

Odds are it's the turndowns.
I had that problem on my '99 - routed it out the back, problem solved.
