Floor the carb, truck dont move

Recently my 86 pu with a 22r was running real bad when it was cold. Once it warmed up it ran great, but that got old.
So I pulled the carb and put another one on, it purred cold or hot. I got on the freeway today and gassed it on the onramp, only the carb reved up and the truck wouldn't move with it. Now the truck still run good as long as you dont step on it. Any clue to what this might be?

by 'the carb reved up' you mean the engine raced, but the truck didn't move ?

ok, your clutch or automagical transmission is dead. where did you find a perfectly working 22r carb ? how much ? linky ?

please explain "only the carb reved up" What speeds, gear are you in when this happens. Uphill? Sputters or backfires? your profile says you replaced the clutch how long ago? did you resurface the fly wheel? new pressure plate as well?
