I'm running 33x12.5 and a saggy butt and I only rub a bit. I'm getting new to me coils for the rear to clean that mess up. As for the front I have not done a thing and I clear alright. had to remove the front mud flaps but other than that she's not rubbing. He should be able to squeeze them in there.

body lifts are great, they are not just for mall crawlers (they are cheap and easy to put in, dont effect the driveability of the truck at all) you can't argue with results.
after reading most of these i was talking myself out of a body lift you talked me back into it thanks PEACE

Body lifts are beneficial I won't argue that. I rock a 2".

Though it's not for looks, AT ALL. Infact I'd prefer not to have it. However I have plans to utilize the space. IE drivetrain lift, thats planned for this spring. The extra space you gain from lifting the body up off the frame is beneficial to maintnence. It's a lot easier to get to things, ie tranny drops. Exhaust manifold, STARTER, not to mention just working under the truck in general.

I wouldn't really reccomend a body lift just to clear huge tires. But to each their own. =)

where talkin about the backspacing of stock wheels not the width. if u run the setup like i used to run, u might no tnot rub at all, or u could rub all teh time. each brand and make of 33x12.50s is a differnet size. some are smaller, some are bigger. i dont know why u gotta be a smarta$$ all the time

So how long should it take me to install the lift and the new diff?

He's giving me the whole front end, he did Sas.

I can work out of my uncles shop,
I'll have access to air tools, torches,etc..

I don't want my truck to be down for too long.

liek what you said in the post that i quoted.

I've been working on motocross bikes for 5 years, and assembled race karts for Emmick when I worked there but haven't done any suspension work on a truck, mostly starters, alternators, water pumps, etc.

I'll have my uncle to lend me a hand, and since he's giving me the whole front end I won't have to tear it down as much right?

when he did the SAS did he cut it off or unbolt it? now dont take my word fro this because i aint to familar with drop bracket lifts but you will prob have to take all the drop brackets off of the old front end tehn put it on yours. hes prob givin you the whole front end because he don tfeel like unbolting teh IFS lift. but like i said, don ttake my word for it.

No offense buddy, but if you have to ask simple questions like this, then this is a project that is way above your head. Not only cutting out all the IFS stuff, but welding and fabricating the new mounts for everything you're adding on... Plus fabricating a basically complete custom steering setup, re-doing the whole brake system, driveshafts, etc etc etc. It's quite the large undertaking for the novice.

i hate a 3" body lift..but one smaller than that is fine..

mostly because i see alllllll of the lifted chevy's around here run 3" BL's..and they act like its the coolest thing ever..

then they ask if my STOCK toyota has a 2in body lift..lol..cracks me up everytime

i see ALOT of full size rigs nowadays with a BL bigger than 3"..i seen one in a town close to mine that had a 12.5" BL on it...you could see the entire frame..

it was on 40's..and the suspension was completely stock...

and yes you read that right..a 12.5" body lift..i didnt ask him how his steering works..lol

wow. i literally got the chills from reading this, 12.5" body lift is stupidly..... stupid
