woohoo! i finally got my gas tank back in with no leaks and the engine is running. but i still have another question. the last thing i need to do is finish bleeding my brakes (the original problem was the need to replace brake lines). i starting bleeding them the old fashioned way (wife pumping the pedal, me cracking/sealing the bleed valve). i'm getting plenty of fluid out of the 2 fronts and the LSPV, but almost nothing out of the rears. a couple of spits/bubbles, but that's about it. the pedal still feels horrible. am i doing something wrong? does it have something to do with the setting of the LSPV (which is brand new (used) cuz the old one was completely rotted)? i'm on my way to autozone right now to pick up a vacuum pump, but before i use it i need to make sure i'm doing everything right. did i miss anything? oh, and all of my newly installed brake line joints are still dry, so i'm not leaking elsewhere.

 

you are bleeding them in the correct order...yes?

 

i started that way, yes, but when i didn't make any progress i moved on to a different wheel to make sure everything was working properly.

i never really understood the whole concept of starting at the furthest bleed point really.

 

i usually just let them air bleed themselves. just leave one open until fluid starts coming out on its own (keep adding fluid to resevoir). It usually works fine.

oh, and i do LSPV last...
