Fel-Pro PermaTorque Head Gasket

Almost two years ago I did the timing chain cover / water pump / oil pump / head gasket. I normally go with Toyota gaskets when I can, but I screwed up and thought my dealer would have one in stock...they didn't. Long story short - I went with the Oreilly stocked Fel-Pro PermaTorque version that claims no retorquing of the head bolts is necessary.

My truck is not a daily driver, but rather a weekend wheelin' toy. It has a pretty hard life when its driven. After almost two years and 5k miles nothing changed for head bolt torque. This is the first time they have been checked since installation.

My torque wrench is a digital kind with a almost real time readout (very fast refresh rate) and all ten bolts cracked between 56-58 ft-lb using torque-to-turn method. I originally set them to 58 ft-lb using exactly the procedure in the FSM.

Hope this is informative

Very happy.
