Fast ticking/whirring sound under load? 3.0 v6

Can't figure this one out. It only does it at 2500 rpm and up, and in any gear In neutral and revving it doesn't do it. So it can't be valves right? It's freaking annoying and I'd love to get it eliminated. Oh and btw since this is my first post I'll throw a pic of my rig up too.

Yeah but it only does it when moving, and accelerating. Moving and in neutral and revving, nothing. Not moving and revving, nothing. Just when moving and on throttle. I'm stumped. It sounds like it's coming from the front, but since it doesn't do it when it's not moving, kind of hard to pinpoint under the hood lol.

And thanks for the props. Actually have 38.5 tsl's too but it rides much better with the iroks.

I have the same thing on my pickup, and I'm low mileage in excellent condition.
I can't seem to pinpoint it either.
Would the valve train be more stressed under load and need adjustment?
Why would an exhaust leak be worse under load, that seems odd, if an exhaust leaks it leaks and should get worse with time, not stay the same.
I have had exhaust leaks on other vehicles and we could always hear it with the vehicle parked and the hood up.
I run 93 octane gas so I doubt its detonation with the history of the truck and mileage, its a '93 with 91,000 on it.
If it makes a difference the head gasket recall was done.
Also, mine is a 5spd, could that be more stressful on the valvetrain, like we are revving up the engine RPMs under load faster than an auto would?
I've been stumped on this one for almost two years, any advice would help, I've been leaning toward a weak valvetrain that possibly needs adjustment or is just not that great of a design to begin with.

I worked on a 3.0 that notoriously needed exhaust gaskets replaced because the manifold was warped just a tiny bit. And when it would heat up and put under a load, the added pressure was enough to make noise...

sounds like an exhaust leak at or near the manifold
