F150 vents in 87 4runner ?

Tired of looking for inexpensive vents for 1st gens. $85 a piece from dealer. so for $5 a piece and some fab work you can make your own.

more pics coming soon.

Passengers side seems to always break. Because you have to remove this vent prior to removing your old busted dash.

This is my first project with kitty hair so please no bashing. constructive critisism is welcome. I could always learn from the more experienced.

3" grey conduit. trim vent openings in dash to fit . oh! I cut pipe 7/8" long

here are the products i used, along with duplicolor trim paint. sorry guys about the order of this thread I am still learning. here is also a pic of the backside.

Back up openings from behind with duct tape. and after sanding down or grinding down old vinyl start applying kitty hair to the shape your looking for.
I should also mention I routed down the inside of the pipe so as the new vents would be recessed.

Bye the way, notice the acsess to the passengers sid dash bolt.

Ironic as it may sound just 3 days after i started this project an old friend, who works at a junk yard called and said come bye and check out this 2nd gen he just pulled in. well i get there and spot a first gen way in the back. and whataya (Tennessee slang again)know complete dash with 3 perfect vents. Dash was cracked but I got it and a few trim pieces. and pickin up the top this week.

Not my cup of tea, but it looks good and really "modernizes" the interior!

Great work!

Very nice. Ive done lots of fiber glass stuff and its crazy how it looks before its done. Looks almost like it will never look good, then after sanding and painting and more sanding and painting it looks awesome. Few have the patients for it, keep it up, looks good.

I saw this last week on power block. I have done a lot of body work tin and glass. If this works as good as it looks this would make fabing things like the vents very easy’

http://www.powerblocktv.com/episodes...ont-bumper-fab

OH the vents look bad A$$
