Extending brake lines

Extending brake lines

if i do a lift of around 2-4 inches do i need to extend brake lines? front and rear or just one of them? what is the procedure for adding the extension also?

I didn't extend the front with my 1.5" BJ spacer and mild torsion bar lift. You'll want to extend the rear though.

I went from the Downey rear lift to the cruiser coil lift so I had the stainless break line extender already. It's a simple break line swap and then you bleed it. You'll want to do the BPV / LSPV drop as well, again my Downey kit came with that so I had an easy time upgrading to the cruiser coils. Looks easy enough to make though.

Do you know what companies make them? i did not see brakelines on the downey website. Also whats a BPV?

Brake Proportion Valve, aka LSPV Load Sensing Proportion Valve. Not sure about where to buy individually. I've heard different stories about Downey, some guys have been able to call them up and buy individual components from their kits and others have not. It's worth a call though. Or, do a search, somebody on here I'm sure has extended the brake line and has the proper specs posted.
