Extended brake line length
Im going to be going with the Total Chaos Gen 2 Caddy kit in the front which lifts the truck 4", then going with new leaf packs in the rear (Downeys, Deavers, or Trail-Gear) to lift the rear 4" as well. My question is, how much longer do my brake lines need to be? 4" longer than stock? The reason I ask is, I currently have an 02 Tacoma TRD rear end in my garage that im going to be swapping under my truck in a few weeks. I need to do it SOON because my third member gasket (where the third member seats into the axle housing) is leaking, and I dont want to do anything about it since I am going to be putting the new rear end under there. Anyways, the TRD rear end is wider than my current rear end (1.5" wider I believe so .75" on either side) and so I need to get extended brake lines, well if im getting new brake lines, I figure I might as well get the ones I will need for the lift now, and just tie the slack out of the way. I will be getting good SS braided lines from a local shop.
