maybe your ball joints need to be replaced but in my experience it's more likely your steering stops are rubbing metal on metal. if you look there's a plastic cap that touches your control arm when the wheels are turned all the way. when they are worn they make noise. as a first step, try adding a good amount of grease there. it should get better or go away.

mine does it too. i love when it does it while i have a passenger. it's always the same conversation
passenger - "what the hell was that!?!"
me - "i don't know it's probly nothing"
passenger - "nothing's gonna break is it?!"
me - "i don't know.... hasn't yet... don't worry about it"
passenger - "but it sounds so bad!"
but, on my truck anyways, it's the turn stops. my plastic caps are worn down to metal, if i put some grease on 'em it goes away for a little while... usually til i go muddin again.

*sigh*...
holy crap, SEARCH!!!
Yodaforce hit the nail on the head; the steering stops have a little plastic cap over them that wear or break off over years, and when they're gone, it's metal-to-metal at full steering lock against the little steering stops on each side

^^^^^ Yeah that's it guys...
If you put a ton of grease on each of them front and rear it will not make this noise anymore.
It's very simple to find and apply the grease to.
If you have your tires turned to the right or left you will see them in the gaps. Just grease it up where it rubs and the noise is gone!
