Engine turns over and stalls 3vz
Alright ill try to be as detailed as possible. My engine starts and then stalls as of now. Before it would start and then putter with the idle jumping down but i could rev it and drive away and it was fine for the rest of the drive, this happened about 1/20 start ups, all the rest were normal. My idle speed when things are going well is about 700rpms. I did the head gaskets myself about a month ago, replaced the timing belt, cleaned the injectors, new water pump and new radiator. Fired right up and hasnt missed a beat except for the 1/20 startup "weakness". Well I just took it on a long road trip (300 miles one way) and it was fine there. on the way back I was driving and about half way I noticed the rpm needle being a little jumpy (+/- 100rpms) so i pulled over and tried to find anything weird going on, couldnt, fired it right back up and drove the rest of the way home with no problems. The next day I drove to lowes (5 miles) to grab some stuff (non car related) and everything was fine, fired up great and drove great. About an hour later I went back out and had a little trouble at start up, i revved it a little bit and started driving, got to a red light about a mile down the road and it stalled on me. Couldnt fire it back up and so a cop pushed me to an open parking lot where I messed around with it for a while, mostly the AFM and it fired up so I drove it to the store and then it didnt fire back up again. Ive checked half hazardly for vacuum leaks and couldnt find any, I broke my bvsv during the head job and just bypassed it. One of the screws for my intake plenum is pretty loose, when I was tightening it down it busted through and I havent gotten around to putting some helicoils in there.
What ive done
checked the VAF and all the resistances are within spec, though im not sure the female plug works. I am going to go test that soon. (its sitting in a parking lot about 4 miles away). Ive tried firing it up with the jump for the fuel pump (fuel pump WAS humming) and it didnt go. Last night I cleaned the VAF meter and jumped the car and it fired it up, I drove it around the empty parking lot and it was jumping the rpm needle around about 600rpms, going from almost stalling to 1200 rpms just cruising, without me throttling it so I decided to leave it in the parking lot (could have been unevaporated cleaning agent on the meter). I dont have any active CEL but when i jump the ports I get 24 and 31. I was going to go change the fuel filter after I post this but I feel like its the VAF not opening. I popped the plastic lid off and all the electrical components seemed to be where they need to be. Also i pulled the intake hose off the throttle body and it was coated pretty good in there with some oil. I changed the pcv valve and hose when i did the heads and so its either the valve seals or i may have put too much oil in there, or i dont know if so many cranks without turn overs would do that. Right now it does not start, its almost as if its turning over while i am cranking but when i stop its dead. Fuel tank is about half full, engine fluids are good. I know this is a lot but I would appreciate the help. I got an appointment at a mechanic to figure it out tuesday for 100$, if i can figure it out before then and get it running im happy to venmo someone for helping me save some money.
