eLocker availibility

Posted this question once but my connection is on the fritz so, What year did the elocker become available? I have a line on a 90 xcab TRD but before I decide to drive 3 hours I want to know if it has an elocker. I thought that it came out with the 95.5 and the tacoma namesake however searching is leaving me empty handed.

I thought something was amiss. Maybe it was the mismatched wheels. So, What year did the elocker become available? I had already looked at eric's site and it only states what the elocker will fit rather than what trucks you can find them in.

They did. I had a 90 mr2 TuRD. Had a huffer and handled like it was on rails...Didn't last long though. I was young(er) and got addicted to boost too quick. Ended up brick walling it on a rainy day. Drove it home though.

TRD has been around since the early 70's. However, TRD USA was established in 1995.

that 1990, however, is NOT a TRD version, as SuperBleeder correctly stated.

Thanks, I think I'm going to pass on this one. I'm really looking for another drop top 4runner anyway, and since its a fake I wonder what else on the truck is.

FWIW, there's someone here that posted pics of his 1st-gen 4runner with TRD badging on the rear.

Although in his defense, it was a very well restored 4Runner, super clean inside and out.

ah-ha, and someone handily revived the thread after I posted. Here it is, set faces to "drool": https://www.yotatech.com/51068034-post264.html

No reason to rename it. What we need is a source for stickers that say "BBY". "Built By Yotatech". Heck I call my rig "Baby" everytime I get into a situation where we're spinning tires and praying not to get stuck, the "BBY" on the quarter panel would fit right in for most of us.

"Come on baby, almost there..... don't let that Jeep see you do this to me..... come on just 8 more feet baby girl we're almost there...."
