Early to Late 22r Fuel Pump

Hey guys, I have an '86 4x4 Pickup with a 22r, which spun a bearing a few weeks back. I tore the motor down only to find that I had a pre '84 22r so I replaced it with the correct one and have run into a few issues. The most recent one is my fuel pump from the old one. I tried to bolt it up today and the arm that rides on the cam lobe looks like its too long, so even with the spacer its about a half inch away from the head. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the early pumps are different from 84+ ones. I need my daily back so if you guys could weigh in I'd greatly appreciate it!

LCE sells a fuel pump for 80-95 so it should work. Did you have the valve cover off when you tried to install it?

Okay, I looked at that pump and the arm looks like its the same length, so do you think I should try their electric fuel pump for the weber?
