Drive shaft

Drive shaft
I have come to the drive shaft in my list of things to do. While getting some stuff done i had the carrier bearing replaced. Mine was pretty tired and it needed to be done.
Which leads me to my U joints. In my 94 extended cab 4x4 v6 how many do I have ? Looks like three to me but maybe I don’t have that right. I figure it’s time to do them. Based on everything else on the truck I have replaced I imagine these are the original 25 year old parts and everything along the drive shaft is looking pretty tired. Are all three ( if that’s how many I have ) the same size ? While messing with this drive shaft is there anything else I should be checking for ... it looks like there is a second carrier bearing in there but I could definitely be wrong.

Just add grease. Dont fix if they're not broken.
If you have a 2 piece shaft, there are 2 in the cardan joint (these are kinda a pita to change) , one at the t case and one at the diff. So should be 4 total. I believe the ones in the cardan joint are different than the ones in a single joint.
While you probably dont need to ad more clearance, this is a good visual of braking them down.

You should at least slide under there, grab the prop shaft, and try to rotate it. Does it move just a little bit, but feel pretty firm? Shoot some grease in there and you're good. Does it rock back forth 15° with a clunking sound? Can you see relative movement in the u-joints? Replace 'em all. http://web.archive.org/web/201204171.../3propelle.pdf RockAuto has joint kits for not much money.
