drive line blues

quick question. should i be able to rotate my drive shaft at all with the e brake on and the truck in gear?

definatly not. if u can then you skinned your ring and pinion and broke the tranny or the tranny is not in gear and you skinned the ring and pinion.

think about it for a sec. the driveline turns the tires. if the tires cant move the DL cant move.

it might move slightly but no full turns or quarter of a turn or anything like that

mine moves about 3/16 of an inch. What could this mean?

its probably fine. i wouldn worry about it unless its vibrating or makin bad noises goin down the road

Check the u-joints, when they wear out you can get a little play in the drive line.
