Replacing exterior door handles(chrome) with new black aftermarket ones on 88' base pickup 4x4. Any special trick? I can't seem to fit the new ones in and they look identical to old ones? Any help greatly appreciated! Thx

 

What part are you having trouble with fitting?

 

The outside exterior handle itself I think may be wrong one for my truck it looks very similar to original one I pulled out but new one isn't fitting back into exterior door hole. I put my old one back in just to see if I was doing something different but still no luck. Aftermarket one may be slightly wider? Hard to tell

Hey I finally worked it in after putting old one back just took a second and third try! Thanks anyway I'll put a photo up when I'm finished

Could you also post where you got these? I was thinking of painting mine, but the chrome is bubbling on the passenger side handles.
