I've had this last replacement for over a year now, and it has worked flawlessly. It may have been my fault the first two failed, but under some circumstances you just don't get a straight pull. I now check to make sure when winching that the rope isn't about to get between the spool/drum and the housing, which caused my last two to fail.

Hey Tortis... I just saw this string of messages and I wanted to jump in. I am glad that the winch has been working fine since the parts were replaced. I believe the reason for the broken drum was two fold- 1 an indirect pull-2 the drums we were using were a cast aluminum and under indirect pulls they would sometimes break. Once we found out about this we replaced that aluminum cast drum with a steel drum- about a year ago. We appreciate feedback on our products- some times the forums are the best way to find out what you are doing right...or wrong...

I also wanted to let you all know that Gorilla Winches has changed names to ProMark OffRoad. Nothing has changed other than the name- same company...just more offerings and it better describes the variety of products we offer. Once again, Thanks for the feed back and I hope this explanation helps!
