Distributor cap retainer screw

Distributor cap retainer screw
Hey all here are a couple pics to show what happen. What I need to know is what I have to do to remove the remaining piece left in the screw hole. What I did was try and remove this one screw with a 8mm socket and ratchet. I was carefully working it back and forth and well it got REAL easy turning. Then I noticed it had broken off inside the screw hole. After that I got some channels locks and figure I could unscrew it from the bottom. That went ok until snap at the bottom. Soo now I have a piece stuck in the screw hole. What I would like to know is what I can do to remove it. Heat? Ez-out? Etc. Is there a cheat I could do to "get by" with a new distributor cap until I get enough funds to replace the hole distributor gear assembly if I have to?
Thanks,
B.
P.S. The File size for pictures is RIDICULOUS!!! Unless some one has some pointers on those ~!!! Spent almost 30mins resizing them!!!!

Upload to photobucket and then just use IMG code and that has no limit.
Standard broken bolt removal stuff. Ez out. Dremel groove in it then use flat head. Lots of ideas on various threads.

The screws on the distributor cap shouldn't be torqued down so much they will break..just good a snug. Maybe try a little heat and an easy out? Maybe a reverse drill bit? You shouldn't have to replace the whole distributor just for a broken bolt. If it comes down to it, take it up to a machine shop and they can get it out.
Sign up for a photobucket account or picasa and hot link the pictures to your posts. I think there are a few how to threads on here. Much easier than resizing and uploading.

I had the snap clips break on my Jetta some years back (corroded) right before a trip. I used a bunch of zip ties strategically placed to hold the cap down. I drove it from Philadelphia to Cape Cod and back with no issues. It worked so good that I drove it even longer before getting around to fixing it. Just make sure it's snug in all directions - that's all the screws do.

SUCCESS!!! After looking at all the options and VERY FAST replies, I decided to go with advice of drilling out a pilot hole and reaming it out more so a M5 bolt and nut would fit through it. I put flat washers on both ends and snugged it up good enough so it would not come loose. So after I did that I completed my tune-up (more info in my 1989 4runner SR5 3.0L thread).
So just wanted to say thank you very much to everyone who replied....
Thanks again,
B.
P.S. I will remember the zip tie trick too.
P.S.S. Appreciate the information on the img command.

You're welcome!
Here's another pic tip: Extra large pics make threads a lot harder to navigate for those of us with smaller screens. I find that uploading pics at 1280x960 is optimal when viewing this site in 1600x1200 resolution(which is the highest available on my current monitor). I'm also aware that many of us don't even have screens that large. So I try not to post pics any larger than that. 1024x768 is a very popular choice. 2592x1936 pixels is a little too big.
photobucket....1279x954 pixels...big enough
