Dash panel swap?

All-
I am boooored and underinformed by my current dashboard instrument cluster (92 Toy PU with the basic speedo, gas, temp only). Have thought about either a) swapping in a full panel (the one with tach, amps, etc) or b) getting some aftermarket gauges. Is the former possible ... ie from the wiring/sender/etc standpoint? As for the latter, any recs beyonf standard autometer, etc?
Thanks

I'm a cheap bugger, especially regarding a 15 year old set of wheels (!). Suspect I'll do the SR5 swap, or just get some regular guages ... tho where to put them...
