cruise control switch

where do you turn on cruise control at? i have an 86 runner but my manual is for a 87. the manual shows a button somewhere on the dash, but i cant find one on my 86. i have the selector in mine that says set resume coast and accelerate. there seems to be a button at the end of the column but nothing happens when i push it.any help would be great, and thanks

on the dash, right side of the steering column. button that says cruise and a bigger green plastic lense, which is a courtesy light to see the ignition.

the space on the bottom right is where it sits.

That's my vote. I replaced mine years ago because the headlights would sometimes just cut out. Of course, mine had CC before so it all works together. but Jason's probably right - someone bought a used replacement and it happened to come with CC.

Time to retrofit!

lol. If you look under the hood and you have the servo next to the clutch master..... then someone just stole your switch.

at first i thought the same thing. but there are two rods coming off the left side of the steering column. one for the head lights and turn signals, and the other one for cruise control. so why put one in for cruise control if there is no cruise control. you wouldnt swap a switch in if one isnt needed.
