Cruise Control

I keep seeing vacuum operated cruise control on the 4 runners. My son has a 94 5 speed, V6, 4wd. It has cruise but it is on the passenger side by the add actuators and doesn't have a vacuum pod on it. It is a Toyota one and the steering wheel has the cruise knobs on it. I'll try to get a pic but is there a cruise that doesn't have vacuum and is the cruise control on the passenger side on a 94 4 runner?

My '95 3.0 5 speed SR5 4Runner has a factory electric servo cruise mounted as you say your '94s' is.
I think the electric servo cruise is a better functioning setup than the vacuum type, especially on smaller engines that you have to have your foot in, in order to make speed. Not much vacuum is available with the throttle substantially open.
Large, lightly loaded engines can do with vacuum servo cruise, small powerplants, not so much.
