Creaking sound when releasing clutch?
When I release the clutch pedal, it comes almost all the way back up, then creaks the last inch or so. The clutch is completely released when the creak occurs. It's a sharp popping sound, like plastic or metal biting sound. I've read it could be the clutch pedal assembly itself, but I'm not experiencing any clutch issues that normally show up with that. Could it be the spring itself making this sound?
Thanks, everyone.

I was having the same problem. I also could hear a clicking noise which sounded to be louder coming from inside the engine bay right by the master cylinder. clicking went away after a bit, but it still squeaks. I'm curious to what this is too.

I went out and removed the clutch master cylinder and the clicking stopped. I also examined the spring and clutch assembly plate, and it all looks pretty solid. So, my guess would be a master cylinder.. However, I just put on an Aisin about a year ago. The last one lasted 25 years, and this one only 1? It doesn't make any sense.
Any ideas from the YT clutch gods?

I don't know how old your clutch is, but it could be throw out or pilot bearing.
Also some people have a habit of resting there foot on clutch pedal while driving which can cause pre-mature wear on those components.

The clutch, bearings, and cylinders are all about a year old.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I could feel it in the master cylinder, and the pedal, but I thought it was louder at the master cylinder. I was having problems with either my pilot or throwout bearing too around the same time as the clicking. It would squeak a little until I pushed on the clutch pedal a little bit. But it all kinda went away after I got it running and started driving it more.
