Coolant Leak on '90 4Runner
Anybody know how to seal up this fitting on the lower plenum. It leaks coolant. Is there a special sealant to apply to the treads of will plumbers tape do the trick? Also, my front rotors seem to be wearing more on the outside than the inside. Any reasons as to why?
Here's the location.
And the culprit.

Plumber's tape or thread compound. Odd that that would be leaking. Did you take it apart for any reason?
All I can think of on the rotors is maybe the calipers are not applying even pressure between the inside and outside. Like maybe the outside pistons are barely functioning. Or, the insides are not releasing fully.

Thanks for the quick reply. I never took that piece off before. I'm just hoping it comes off with no trouble. It looks to be all metal. I did rebuild the calipers three years ago, and all the pistons looked fine. Just went ahead and popped in new seals and that was it.

The calipers don't appear to be leaking anywhere, do they?
Are you sure that threaded fitting is where it's leaking from? It shouldn't be too difficult to pull it with a deep well socket. You'll have to pull the TB off, though.
