Converting to a SR5

Ok so i have a 1994 standard model extended cab pickup with the 3.0 v6 5 speed. i recentley picked up the identical truck as mine...but the SR5 with power everything all the goodies. I picked up the SR5 for 500 bucks....had a bad head gasket and wasnt in the best of shape, but i figured it was still worth 500 bucks. I want to put all the Sr5 stuff in my truc and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of doing that. I started switching all the stuff over, so far i have taken out my bench seats, and put in the bucket seats with the center console out of the sr5. I put the tailgate on my truck....only because i didnt have one due to the harsh northern new york salty winters and a toyotas reaction to it. i put the clock in the dash, and the button for the airconditioning, whitch i ealized works after i plugged it in. Does that mean it is allready wired for a/c? or is there just power to the switch. I know i could still have to install the a/c compressor and everyitnhg...but how much of it is already done for me? alslo i want to install the cruise controll in my truck, and the power locks and windows. any knowledge on that?

If anyone out there can help me that would be a big help.......if not, looks like i will be doing a lot of guessing, and plugg and checking hahaha.

thanks
-beach

Maybe it might be less complicated to just swap out the blown headgasket motor for the running motor in your current truck. If your current truck didn't come with A/C, you will have to add it from the other one.

Well, you might be able to do that by getting one of those Chilton manuals, and see where all the components are for the A/C, and Cruise control, so you can swap them over, and they will work properly.

I did the same thing on my 88 pickup only I had to make up some off the wiring harness because it had already been taken from the doner truck. If you take your time and change everything over one piece at a time it's not too hard. You will have to drill holes in the firewall for the A/C lines but if it is like mine there are dimples on the inside off the firewall where you have to drill. The rest is all pretty much parts swapping. You may have to use the dashboard wiring harness from the doner truck. Well worth the effort in the end.

for the most part, the engine swap will be without trouble.... but you'll have to pay attention, in particular to the gauge cluster and the oil pressure sendor- you'll need to use the OPS and cluster from the SR5 in your truck.
Which makes me think... you bought a bad truck to put parts from the bad truck into your truck?

yeah, i am really not trying to do a motor swap, my truck is in much better shape than the donor truck. thanks toyota pete, i knew someone had to have done this before. I thinkg im going to try to change over the doors and get power windows locks and mirrors soon. I am gonna try the a/c swapping when it gets warmer out around me. its kinda cold working out in the snow haha.
