Colorado to Kansas

So I took my first road trip since buying the rig on august 18th and it did fantastic.Me and my son drove from firestone, colorado to wichita, kansas.Loaded with all of our belongings causing a slight sag in the rear.First thing I noticed right away was, even with 440 lbs of beef in the front seats I still had torque.Heading east on I-70 and climbing hills all I had to do is just barely push the gas to gain speed in 5th gear.Im starting to think my motor has been rebuilt at some point in time. The odometer has 235,000 on it,just wanted to hear what you guys think.

The reason Im suprised I guess is because climbing hills weighted down at 75mph and just barely giving it gas to maintain speed, found myself hitting 84mph a couple times.Cruise doesnt work.I didnt expect a V6 with that many miles on it to behave or respond like it wasnt old and tired. After reading a few posts in here I figured down shifting to 4th would be the norm for 550 miles.I never once had to downshift to maintain speed.Cost me 70 dollars in gas, will check oil in the morning to see how it did.
