Hello-

My 4runner has been doing this weird thing where it will surge and stall if the idle drops too low. It has gotten to the point that anytime I slow down and depress my clutch, the rpms drop and the engine cuts out. I've tried replacing plugs, wires, cap and MAF (another used one), but these only work for about a week. I finally took it in to get a diagnostic and the codes that come up are 12 and 14.

The engine has 350k on it and the mechanic basically told me that it's not worth fixing, but I disagree! Anyone have any suggestions?

a FSM and an ohm meter. you are gonna need these to trouble shoot these areas
12=distributor circut area
14=igniter and ignition coil area
