Clutch size questions

So i have a 94 pickup with the L4 4wd. It also has 31" tires and a small lift. The clutch was slipping so im replacing it. I have everything torn out ready for the new one but when i got the new clutch, the sizes are all messed up. So some dude from a clutch company told me to go from the 9 1/4" clutch to the 8 7/8" clutch as well has a 5lbs lighter flywheel to get better performance going up hills (i live in utah), well he said to buy the 92 4wd clutch kit because that had the 8 7/8" size. I did that off Rockauto and the one that came is 9 1/4". Now sceptical, i weighed the new flywheel, which was supposed to be 30lbs instead of the factory 35lbs, and it came in at roughly 25lbs. Haha i don't have the repair manual yet and I really gotta get my ride going due to my job so I am in a pinch and I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my confusing situation.

All 22re’s have the same flywheel. You can use whatever clutch size you want, just keep it all as a matched set. I’ve been a Toyota parts guy for about 20 years. One time I needed a new clutch for an 84 Celica and I literally just went through the Toyota fast moving parts catalog and picked the cheapest disc, cheapest pressure plate, bearings etc. Worked great.
My 93 left the factory with the smaller clutch, but when it was in Puerto Rico my father complained of some slipping(carrying horses in the bed!!) I sent him the bigger clutch set. There was a Toyota technical service bulletin for the bigger clutch back then.

According to Marlin Crawler, 89-92 uses an 8 7/8" flywheel & 94-95 uses a 9 5/16" flywheel.
