Could be a few things !!
Wrong parts in the right box .
Could just be the wrong clutch kit for what you have .
New Hydraulic parts or used??
Quite a few having trouble with poor quality parts.
could be the wrong slave cylinder.
Still air in the system.
poor connections allowing air to be drawn in
used a old rubber hose that balloons under pressure.
Adjustment of the master cylinder rod
A few things to look at and think about

Do you know if the transmission ever went into reverse? if you are not sure transmission could have had the problem before you installed it. If you know the reverse worked before installation I would look into ( air in the system, possible wrong slave cylinder or push rod is to short ) I would look at this first then move on to the master cylinder. It would help to know the condition of part before you installed them.
