Clutch noise

When I'm sitting still with my truck idling I hear a whirring noise. When I press the clutch pedal in the noise disapears. Is this an indication of the clutch going out or is it just an adjustment? The clutch does engage on the high end of releasing the pedal.

Thanks

I swear I have had this "problem" on every single manual transmission vehicle I've ever owned. I've even replaced clutches, throw out bearings, pilot bearings, surfaced flywheels, etc...etc and I still have the same problem afterwards. I've learned to live with it. My clutch operates fine, but is as noisey as the valvetrain on my 3.0.
