hey all, i have a 1991 pu sr5 v6 and have a strange clicking sound coming from the engine compartment on the drivers side. i dont think anything is wrong with my engine, its just something thats really noisy. rotor maybe? just wondering if anyone else knows what im talking about and how to possibly quiet it down.

 

is it a slow tick or a really fast tick. Sounds defined as tick would mean valves to me without being able to hear it in person. Take it to an experienced mechanic, they know their sounds. Does it modulate in speed with engine RPM?

 

Mine does it too. The injectors on this engine are noisy, so that may be it. Did it just start or has it always done it?

 

Costs $20 and 30 minutes. Then out of sight, and out of mind (they are right, it is probably the injectors working as they are suppose to).
