HELP!!: cheap 02 sensor 95 4runner 3.slow
HI all. I'm new to the forum but no need to tell me the amazing amount of helpful and knowledgable users here!
So my 95 4runner SR5 3.0 (5 speed) engine light came on a while back and I assumed it was the gas cap loose again, but this time it wasn't cause it stayed on after tightening.
Ran the code w/ a mechanic friend and its the o2 sensor, but the truck is still running good and mileage doesnt seem to be affected either (never was very good - 16-18mpg w 27s).
Does this indicate that its probably the rear sensor as opposed to the front? From what I've heard the rear monitors the cat and the front helps control air/fuel management which goes to crap if the sensor fails.
Anyway Im a cheap SOB so I found one cheap that says it will fit, but Im also a skeptical SOB so here I am.
Its a Borg Warner 1WF SG370 O2 OXYGEN SENSOR UNIVERSAL 1WIRE WITH FLANGE SENSOR COMES READY TO INSTALL WITH SPLICING TERMINALS
This is the flange type which is what I need (correct me if I'm wrong), a 1 wire type (not sure - seems like the direct fit has more) and its also dirt cheap so ... EDUCATE ME PLEASE O MIGHTY YOTA FOLKS
Afterthought: Should I buy two and replace both o2 sensors (IM NOT SUBJECT TO EMMISIONS TESTING)

I purchased my o2 sensor from autozone. I got a helluva good deal. I went in to purchase the bosch original style connector. Upon examination, the o2 sensor was actually a denso. I also worked for a automotive repair shop, and was able to drive em down to $55.00. Originally $150 or so for walk in customers. hehe
