Case Oil Treatment

1994 3.0 auto Runner
My truck is not wanting to go into gear(randomly).
I am having solenoid sticking issues I'm pretty sure. So I talked to some tranny guys. They said that the transfer case is probably needing some parts replaced too. Have you guys had to go into the case due to the auto tranny not going into farward/reverse? Can I try a TC oil treatment?

If it is a problem of valves sticking in the valve body ,you could try trans medic . I had very could results in a jimmy and for around 5 dollars it might help.

Well, I'm having 3 issues with this new to me 4runner.
1: It not always downshifts to 1st gear.
2: Torque converter unlocks at highway speeds sometimes-running 33's stock geared.
3: A couple of times it wouldn't go into drive or reverse.

Comments?

I have had a similar issue but I have found it's only when I have put it in park on flat ground. It reminds me of trying to shift a motorcycle into first gear, sometimes you have to rock it back and forth in order to get it to go. One thing I have noticed is that I throw it in 4x4 and put it in gear it takes right off and then I shift back out of 4x4 in first gear and it goes fine. I haven't bothered trying to fix it because it has only happened a handful of times in the years I have owned it.
