Can you remove a fixed antenna?

Well, if you have read my previous post, I need to fix my car. To cut off the excess sheetmetal up front to weld on some new pieces, I need to remove the front passenger side fender. However, attached to that fender is the antenna, and I believe that I have to remove it to take off the fender. How exactly do you do this?

Thankyou in advance

There should be a nut on the underside that should let it be removed...

the antenna is attached to the fender by a backing nut. to remove the fender remove all the bolts along the hood line the ones inside the door jam and the ones holding the inner fender to the outter fender and im sure there are some more. once its off disconnect the antenna

under your "gap gaurds" (the pieces of rubber that keep mud etc... out of your engine and reach up on the fender there should be a nut that connects to the antena i had to tighten mine a few times

when i took my fender off, i just yanked and pulled till the rubber thing bent and fell off

it looks fine, i taped whatever was previousyl broken under the fender, and sprayed the little thing the antenae threads into to match the truck. theres a slight gap now but it looks better then before, when it would just flop over

its OK

you can take the fender off while the antenna is still attatched, you just gotta have a cord hanging from the fender

the nut just removes the antenna from the connection to the body, but is still attached through its chord
