Can you identify this sound (youtube link incl)
Hello yota peoples
First post here, just picked up a 92 SAS truck, V6 5 spd with oh so many miles !
Anyway, she drives fine, no rust etc
However after I bought it, I noticed this sound coming from the tranny/clutch ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Brqrp_kxjM
The sound goes away as soon as I put a small amount of pressure on the clutch, it is there when the clutch is out, weather or not the truck is in gear or moving. In the video you can hear me engaging and disengaging the clutch.
Also it seems to me it doesn't make the sound when the truck is cold
I also have a lot of stickshift bobble wobble, i'll be looking into a tranny mount as well
Is that some sort of bearing chirp? Do I need to worry myself with it?
Cheers

Sounds like either throwout bearing or your pilot bearing. Pay your neighbor to lay under your truck and listen and see if its coming from the tranny/engine.

If it's going away WHEN you push the clutch, it's most likely the pilot bearing.
However, it could be the throwout bearing, or both.
Standard replacement items when you replace a clutch. It's a LOT of trouble to do if the clutch is still good. I'd keep an eye (ear?) on it for signs of getting worse or rough. Until then, wouldn't worry about it.
