A.c. Idle adjustment?

Hi all, the a.c. On my truck blows ice cold but only while driving. Once i return to idle- hot air! I attempted to set the a.c. Idle with the black plastic valve located just to the right of the throttle body but am getting no reaction while adjusting the screw. I thought that i'd start there since it works while driving or at a higher r.p.m. Put the dwell tach on it and the idle doesn't change with the a.c. On. Any thoughts on this problem or experience setting the a.c. Idle?

ill be watching this thread, my ac is currently not working need to replace a line, belt is off but when i press the ac button it does not increase my idle, if i pull the vacuum line off that goes from the vss to the where the ac idle adjustment screw is and put a vacuum pump on it, it ups the idol, i'm thinking maybe the vss is bad.

If cold when moving & warm at idle, you aren't getting sufficient airflow through the condenser. Check for bugs, mud, etc. & is your fan working properly?
