bypass AUTO lockout????

I have a 94 auto 3.slow runner and having a problem with blowing my ''stop'' 15A fuse as soon as I put in in, also my clock and cigarette lighter are not working but the fuse is not blown for the ''CIG''. this all started a week ago when I changed all my dash lights to blue. I removed the cover for the shifter to change the bulb. When i was putting everything back I could not get the shifter out of park, I had no blown fuses at that time, everything in the shifter housing was tougher and there. I searched on here at the time and all I could find was to check the ''stop/tail'' fuses and i had none blown. My tail lights also worked as well as stepping on the brake. I was at a lost so I just removed the white cover lockout mechanism and cut and taped the two green wires. So now i don't have to step on the brake to shift into gear.BUT removing this piece for the auto lockout can cause my ''STOP'' fuse to instantly blow and have no power to my clock and cig lighter? has anyone bypassed or done something similar to this??
