Budbuilt crossmember

I installed a budbuilt crossmember a few days ag . I have a 3 inch body lift so I went with a flat belly member with a 3 inch drivetrain lift and I also did 2 inch 4crawler motor spacers as well. I now have 22 inches of clearance under the belly of the truck. The difference is insane. I think I had 13 or 16inches of clearance before the new crossmember

Heres a few before and after photos

Before

After

Yea Toyota kinda dropped the ball on that crossmember. But the great part is that they didn't learn anything as on my tacoma the exhaust pipe is the lowest part right there and not protected by anything.

the only issue I'm having now is that my driveshaft bolts hit the transmission 4x4 shifter under load. Kind of annoying lol but other than that the ground clearance is amazing

So, with the flat crossmember how many inches is the tranny being lifted? I assume more than 3 since you said there is some thing hitting somewhere and you have a 3 inch body lift. Looks great though, that stock cross member is so ugly and bulky!
I made my own few weeks ago, as I have an auto and basically no options for aftermerket cross members. lol. But it's not a flat one, that would have been much easier to make :/

3inches for the tcase and tranny. I did 2 for the engine. I have an auto too. Budbuilt makes stuff for the auto.
I hated how low the stock crossmember was. Now I've got a ˟˟˟˟ ton of clearance which was a big problem for me before

I asked budbuilt months ago if they build a crossmember with skid plate for A340H tranny and 1.5 inch lift.. they said no Why me??? lol

Yah, that is a sweet setup. Mine is much improved, but not flat like this. But I only have 1.5 body lift... making a skid plate now is easier for your setup too

hmmmm what engine do you have? Maybe they dont for your particular setup. I know with mine they had to fab some stuff up custom for my skid plate.

I have the 3.0. Maybe if I asked them for custom work that would have worked.

This isnt what youd need? They have the 3.0 crossmember with 1.5 inch lift on the site. Maybe it's for manual and not auto? Idk I have a 22re so maybe that's why. Either way I'm happy with the product.

Did you get this problem fixed? I had the exact same issue 2 months ago on mine. At first I thought it was a bad mount but after replacng it I stll had the issue. Finally spaced the crossmember down 1/8" with washers and it went away.

I tracked it down to the 4x4 shifter on the body and tail end of the transmission. The original owner cut and extended it when he put the body lift in. I cut and shortened it to fit but apparently didnt cut enough off. So I ended up.ordering a new one. I havent got it yet so I dont know 100% if this will fix it but my next thought was to do spacers like you did.

Did anyone with a longbed/Xtra cab have issues with the center support bearing (CSB) on the two piece rear drive shafts? I reached out to bud and he said it would not be an issue. Just wanting to hear anyone's experience with it. I have a 92 Xtracab with 3VZE manual and 3" body lift.
