Break line leaking
#1
Hello good afternoon everybody so I went to a mechanic today to see If I could get my A/C fixed but unfortunately that failed to happen anyways while he was checking my truck he advised me that my break line cable is leaking. I don't know to much about my truck which is a Toyota pickup 1990 3vze 2wd i will attach a photo of the part he said I will need to replace. If you have the exact name for it sizes and dimensions I need please I would appreciate it. Also if have photos or a video on how to do the job I wouldn't mind that either. I want to try my best to avoid going to a mechanic due to bad experiences. So unfortunately yotatech isn't working for me so I can upload a pic. The best way I can describe is it's in the engine bay near the top left corner of it.

You can buy new hardlines from toyota, but usually people make them as they see fit. Youll need a few tools to double flair the new line and bend it into place, then bleed all the brakes and lspv. A Chilton or factory service manual would also be a great tool to have.
Brakes are kinda important.. you may want to bring it to a mechanic for this one if your not familiar to working on vehicles.

If your brake line is leaking it can cause a complete brake failure at any time. Did the mechanic offer to repair this problem and you declined??
I will say the copper/nickle brake line is very good to work with.
Not knowing your mechanical aptitude making brake lines and double flaring might not be the best idea have any friends that could help?
Finding a Good Honest mechanic can be very difficult good is not cheap and many are booked at least a week out. Then finding one who has worked on vehicles this age is interesting as well can`t plug into the diagnostic computer no idea where to start.
Best of Luck.

When I redid some of my brake hard lines, I used pre flared lengths of brake line and couplers from the local auto parts store. Bend them into shape as needed, and Bob's your uncle. Multiple different lengths of line as well. Just another option for you. Good luck!
