brake woes..

alright,im continuing on my 86 p/u,ive replaced front brakes and calipers (rotors are good)all lines front to back, bench blead new master cylinder...blead the system twice with the wife pumping the brakes system (shes a real trooper)from lt rear,rt rear, rt front,lt front.adjusted back pads to where you can barely get the drums on.i cannot get any more air out.pedal still goes to the floor??? you get about 1" of pumping on the firewall end.the petal rod is right against the master cyl when installed.by the way ,this is the second master cyl in two days because i questioned its working because of no pedal after bleeding.now, with the truck running, when i pump the brakes i lose vaccuum.light hissingi checked the check valve from the master to the engine and its good. .if my power booster is bad, that wouldnt cause me to have no pedal, would it? the friggin booster is the only thing i havent changed,yet.... any help would be appreciated.

You didn't mention if you bench blead the master before installing it on the truck.

I ditto WabFab - there is a bleeder on the lsp valve way up on the driver's side frame rail above rear axle to bleed and its usually loaded with air if the system has been opened.

i did bench bleed the master, but i did not know about the lsp valve! would it hold enough air to make the pedal not pump up? also, are you talking about the valve on the passengers side frame rail?

Score one more for Wabbit! Damn that guy is good, he should open a shop or something.

Glad it works now.
