Brake Variations

Are the brakes on my buddies 1989 4runner with IFS different than the brakes on my 88 4runner with a 83 solid front axle. my axle is out of a 83 ppickup 4x4 and his suspension and brakes are stock. whats the difference between them? is it any harder or easier to change the brakes on one or the other.

Yes, totally different sized rotors and brakes. You also probably have solid rotors and his are vented. Its not that hard to swap in some 85 vented rotors and V6 calipers to your axle though.
