Brake squeak
New to this forum, have a real annoying problem on my 88 that I'd love to get rid of.... Bought an 88 std 4x4 new in 88, have 275K on it now, mostly original (this vehicle is the most reliable by far I've ever come across).
I do all maint work myself, and had to replace the front brakes at about 260K. Had to replace the rotors, as they were original, and each had score marks from the calipers, which had stuck pistons on one side, causing the pads to drag....taking out the rotors. Anyway, I replaced the following with O.E totota parts: rotors, rebuilt calipers, pad set, anti-sqeal shims. I used the anti-seize paste supplied with the pad set as I've done on prior brake jobs.
Ever since this brake job, the squeak won't go away. The vehicle never did this it's whole life, and it's really starting to bother me. I've tried the orange anti-squeal stuff that most auto parts stores sell...no help. Tires are stock size, rims were o.e. steel, now with american racing aluminum (outlaw II style). The squeak was there with the stock rims and the aluminums as well. I have tried too much other than what I mentioned, but before I pull the tires off agoin to look, thought I'd see if anyone out there has had a similar issue.
feedback appreciated!

Newer brake pads/shoes, don't have asbestos anymore.
Now they have another substance in them that commonly squeaks/squeals.
It's a major annoyance we've been fighting it at work for years now.
Just hose them out with a garden hose or pressure washer to get the brake dust out of them.
