On Board Air

Hey there guys im looking into getting some on board air hooked up on my truck. I have been reading alot of different posts. I am running 35 12.50 15s on my yota. Im trying to stay away from CO2. I would like a compressor and tank. I also dont want to spend alot of money and maybe something that i can run some air tools off of. If any body has some ideas or pictures post them up

Thanks

You'd need a lot of volume for air tools. You can run a secondary tank to help out though.

York compressors are popular salvage yard retro fits. Depends on your engine and how comfortable with fab you are to make it all work out.

Factory Toyota AC compressors have even been used with good luck. Thing you have to watch for with any retro fit AC compressor is keeping oil in the system so the motor doesn't seize up.

Has anyone used those MV150 made-in-china pumps? I've heard good things about them.

I'm using this setup:

It's great for the horns and moderate tool use, but if you really want to run air tools I don't think it would be up to par even with a second compressor. If you're talking about the occasional tire change it would be great. If you want a mobile shop look into a York and a 10 gallon of bigger tank.
