blown coolant out and not heat

ok so its been like -30 with wind chill here in Upstate NY for the last 3days. i started my 4runner early let it warm up. all seems to be good. but i get half way to work and coolant just starts going everywhere. now the temp gauge(factory) still says normal. I also at this time have no heat anywhere. so i was told my coolant probably gelled. ok stuck it in the heated bay at work filled it up with coolant. all seemed good as i let it sit and warm up, but same thing happened no heat and coolant all over engine compartment. the different thing this time is i had steam coming inside the cab of the truck. I'm lost guys I need some help!

Pressure testing the cooling system will help determine where the coolant is being pushed out.

I had this problem last year when it would drop to the minus teens. Instead of buying a new thermostat, I took my old one out and drilled a 3/16th hole in it. Never had a problem after that.

Good luck! Its supposed to be in the 30s this weekend! Haha.

You might want to check the anti freeze with a hydrometer to see what the concentration is at, pretty important when you're in those temperatures. We get 5-6 months of winter up here, I've never had the problem of coolant everywhere unless, could be your cap.
