black canister under hood to the left?

black canister under hood to the left?
There is a big black canister under the hood to left of the engine and the botom of it has a line underneath it
that seems cut off. Is it supposed to be that way or does it go some where?

supposed to be there, its just a charcoal canister for emissions, and yes the tube is slash cut so it looks like some 1 took a knife to it lol

It's a vapor line for the gas tank. The gas fume goes through the charcoal canister before it goes into the atmosphere.

yup. a.k.a. EVAP, charcoal or vapor canister. Is supposed to store gasoline fumes from the gas tank caused by evaporation and later let the engine suck them in to be burned.

I don't think it "stores" any gas. It just filters the vapor before it goes out.
