When I'm off road, my suspension doesn't cycle very much, so I don't imagine they fade much. Now if I was rally- or desert-racing that would be a different story.
Besides, who cares, they have a lifetime warranty. I plan to replace them about every two years.

Might as well throw my stuff into this. Have had spacers over 3 years with a stock idler and Downey gusset. I rebuilt the idler at the time of spacer install with stock Toyota parts. I run 31 inch BFG AT and the t bars are pretty relaxed. Since my rear locker install, I have been beating the piss out of it on the trail. (Just ask Schaefer or Elvota) No failures in my experience. Some pics of mine in this thread, post #17.

I'm glad you did throw in; it's necessary if we want to get an accurate picture, to have several different people say truthfully what their experience has been & with what equipment/use.

I picked up a pair of Gabriel Ultra (pn G63675) at Autozone for ~$32. each. I had to drive the steel bushings out of the eye with a 3 jaw pulley puller which left the proper eye size and width for my 4runner. (I used the inner shock mount washer on the hook end of the puller to grab onto for the three jaws, otherwise the hooks on the jaws slipped off of the rubber bushing. I lubed the head of the threadad shaft of the puller with silicone to ease the removal of the head after it had driven the steel bushing out. I pushed the bushing most of the way out so as to not damage the rubber bushing with the puller and pulled the steel all of the way out by rocking it out with a pair of pliers.) So far the shocks feel good on the road, and feel good in my neighborhood, which is in the woods and not much better than a rutted fire road, only paved.

As far as flex up, this probably is the best example I've got of mine.

Edit. Forgot about this one.

As soon as my last few parts arrive (tomorrow I hope) I'm tearing into my front end & replacing all bj's, tie rod ends & sleeves, front shocks, rotors, wheel bearings, brake pads & throwing in the SDORI spacers. I'll have my Sonoran Steel IFS truss before to long also I hope, being built right now. I have already replaced my idler arm bushings with the bronze kit & I put in a new OME steering dampener about a year ago & had my drag link replaced under the special service order (recall). I've done a few other tid-bits here & there, once I armor & lock I'll be just about finished with my rig.

Damn, thats wicked flex. BJ spacers and low profile compression bumpstops? Any idler arm failures on that setup.. Sway bars disconnected?

I've liked the Gabriel's better.
Do we have anything like this for the front with 1.5"-2.5" lift?

Yep, check out our site, there are a bunch of front shocks listed. www.sdori.com. They will allow the front suspension to fully cycle with low pro compression bumpstops.

Yes. 1.5 inch spacers, low pro compression stops, stock droop stops, t bars relaxed to the last possible thread while still being safe. IIRC the swaybar was off on the first pic I linked and fully engaged on the second pic which you linked. I gave up on the swaybar disco theory some time ago. No idler arm failures over 3 years, but only running 31's.

I have 1" of lift adjusted into my front suspension. I have no idler issues as of yet but just upgraded to 33's so time will tell. I think 1" of lift is a good compromise between more compression travel and trail flex.

BLKNBLU's experience convinced me to jump in & install mine. I have set my T-bars @ 15" with a half tank of fuel. I installed a used Downey idler arm brace from dirtoyboy & put in the new bronze idler arm bushings. I have 31" tires & OME shocks up front. I installed all new tie rods, ball joints wheel bearing, basically an all new front end with new tires & a fresh alignment, so if anything on mine breaks I'll be scratching my head wondering what caused it & getting out wrenches & a camera.

I've tried to get bronze idler arm bushings but that guy doesn't return e-mails. Very frustrating. I guess I'll just buy a stock replacement.

It's been doing fine but a caveat to that is; I haven't wheeled it yet. I have had it down some forest service roads but that didn't even require 4wd. I have the old girl in the driveway installing ARB equipped diffs right now, got the rear done yesterday & about to start on the front this morning after I check the weather.

Call the shop. That's what I did & they picked up on the 2nd ring, were very friendly & had my bushings to me very quickly by priority mail....only a couple days from ordered to arrived iirc
