bigger tires thread.

so i have a chance to pick up a 88sr5 for $300.
is it worth that and the hassle of all the work for 31's or should i just spend the $$ on tires and slap em on.
i was thinking the 4.56 gears from the sr5 would make a good difference.
keep in mind this is for my dd and road trip ride.
did a search but i want some outright opinions.
thanks.

Well, if you are only going to use this rig for a daily driver and road trips, I would think that fuel economy is something you would desire. 31's probably aren't a huge step up, but I imagine they do make a bit of difference, and now that the prices are really starting to rise at the pumps, I would probably stick with stock tires. Then again, I am pretty much a noob when it comes to tires.

I thought 31s used to be a stock option.
