Bigger brakes, bigger MC?

My '88 4Runner had the stock calipers, 2 small pistons, 2 large pistons.
I upgraded them to a set of the 4 large piston type out of a '94 4Runner.
Along with new Hawk Pads and LC Slotted Rotors. Also new drums and shoes in the rear. Adjusted everything properly, bled a zillion times.
Brakes suck. Soft down to the floor, then get some decent stopping power in those last few inches.
Think I need a larger MC?
Is the one on a '94 4Runner larger than mine? Could I pick one up at a junkyard?
thanks!

Could be the master/booster is on its way out

Look for a 1" MC at the junkyard, good upgrade when going to V6 IFS calipers
